16 Pieces (OTCC Hammermill System)
As a project forwarding specialist, Tuscor Lloyds have worked with the oil and gas industry for many years, working with cargoes of all sizes to locations covering the globe.
This particular consignment consisted of 16 pieces making up an OTCC Hammermill System which was to be used on an offshore oil rig named ‘Deepsea Aberdeen’ in the North Sea, the heaviest piece weighed 44 tons. Although the oil rig was to be positioned not far from the UK coastline, it was being manufactured in South Korea by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME).
Tuscor Lloyds was called in to organise transportation for the OTCC Hammermill System from Middlesbrough, UK to port Busan, South Korea. The shipment was arranged between Christmas & New Year 2013, meaning many businesses were closed & vessel availability limited. Thanks to our experienced staff and strong connections this didn’t cause any issues for Tuscor Lloyds.
Tuscor Lloyds organised for the cargo to be shipped from the port of Rotterdam, Netherlands into South Korea. In order to get the cargo to Rotterdam, Tuscor Lloyds’ project management chartered a dedicated vessel to ship cargo from the port of Middlesbrough to Rotterdam.
The cargo arrived at the port of Rotterdam New Years Eve and was discharged from the chartered vessel on the first working day of 2014. Once the cargo was unloaded from the chartered vessel, it was reloaded back out of Rotterdam to the mother vessel bound for South Korea.
The vessel reached the port of Busan after 30 days of transit and was discharged in perfect condition. Another successful shipment from Tuscor Lloyds project management team.
